English Second Language

English Second Language is a ministry of South Main Baptist Church and the Lakelands Baptist Association. Our goal is to teach English to non-native speakers who reside in our community and to foster lasting relationships which allows them to see and hear the love of Christ. Currently, 40+ adults and children attend each week. The students are from Kosovo, Albania, Italy, Egypt, Honduras, Columbia, Guatemala and Mexico.

In addition to the Thursday night classes, our church conducts International Bible Study Sunday School classes for this same audience. An average of 12 adults, along with their children, attends each Sunday to learn the English language and hear the Word of God taught.
